Desi (Native) Cows

Why Desi Cow?

Native cows often have developed strong resistance to local diseases, minimizing the need for antibiotics in their feed. They are well-suited to their local climate and feed sources, potentially resulting in a more balanced nutrient profile in their milk. Grazing on natural pastures can reduce exposure to potential environmental toxins that could be present in commercial feed.

Cultural significance

In many communities, native cows are seen as an integral part of life, leading to generations of selective breeding for a friendly disposition.

Traditional Milking

The calf is allowed to suckle before milking to stimulate milk let down. Traditional milking is often done by hand, and involves massaging and pulling down on the teats of a cow to squeeze milk into a bucket.

Free grazing cows

We let our cows roam and graze in open fields so they can choose the plants they want to eat. Free grazing benefits both the cows and the environment in many ways.

More nutritious milk

They are very strong due to high anger and vigor.  By spending more time with them, farmers in the countryside keep them under control.  And their milk yield is low.  They do not give as much milk as foreign crossbred cows.
